How to use the Delphix Continuous Data Engine key pair?

Perform the following steps to use the Delphix Continuous Data Engine key pair:

  1. Select Public Key for the Login Type.

  2. Click View Public Key.

  3. Copy the public key that is displayed, and append it to the end of your ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file. If this file does not exist, you must create it.

    1. Run chmod 600 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys to allow only the file's owner to read and write to it (make sure the file is owned by you).

    2. Run chmod 755 ~ to restrict access to your home directory so that no other may write to it.

    3. Run chmod 700 ~/.ssh so that others cannot write to it. The ~/.ssh directory is not writable by group or others. Otherwise, authentication will fail.

Which backup does the connector restore?

The connector restores the most recent completed full backup and the most recent completed incremental backup in the Backup Location. Each dSource snapshot reflects the latest completed backup.

Can I select an incremental backup or restore to a point in time?

No. The connector selects the most recent completed backup and does not support selecting a specific incremental backup or point-in-time restore.

Do VDBs use Yugabyte Anywhere?

No. The connector provisions and manages VDBs directly on target hosts.

Is NFS supported for backups?

No. Store backups in AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage.

Which TLS modes are available?

dSources support Disabled, YBA Self-Signed (Auto), Customer Self-Signed, and CA-Signed. VDBs support Disabled, Customer Self-Signed, and CA-Signed.

What is Seed?

Delphix creates an empty YugabyteDB universe on the staging host. The first dSource snapshot is empty, so load data before provisioning a VDB.
