Provision a vPDB from an Oracle Staging Push snapshot in DCT

Delphix supports provisioning a virtual pluggable database (vPDB) from a staging push dSource snapshot in to linked container database (CDB).

Provision a vPDB from an Oracle Staging Push dSource Snapshot into a linked CDB

To provision vPDB from a Staging Push dSource snapshot into a linked CDB in DCT, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the DCT instance.

2. Navigate to Data > dSources, and click a Staging Push dSource and select the Timeline tab.

   If there is a no snapshot in the Timeline history, click the Actions menu and select the Create Snapshot option to add a snapshot.

3. Choose a snapshot and click Actions > Provision VDB. For more information, read the Provisioning a VDB page.

4. On the Provision VDB page, select the existing linked CDB and click Next.

5. Enter the Target Configuration details and click Next.

6. Accept the default Policies options and click Next.

7. Accept the default Masking options and click Next.

8. Accept the default Hook operations and click Next.

9. Review the summary and click Submit.

Provision a vPDB from an Oracle Staging Push dSource into a new CDB

To provision a vPDB from an Oracle Staging Push dSource to a new CDB in DCT, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the DCT instance.

2. Navigate to Data > dSources, and click a Staging Push dSource and select the Timeline tab.

3. Choose a snapshot and click Actions > Provision VDB.

4. On the Target Environment page, select the Create a new container database check box and click Next.

   

5. Follow the instructions from step # 5 to 9 in the previous section to complete the provisioning of a new CDB.
