Register the freshly-provisioned DBTechstack with the Delphix Continuous Data Engine.

It is a mandatory step to register the freshly-provisioned DBTechstack to provision the VDB using this ORACLE_HOME only.

There are two ways to discover the new DBTechstack ORACLE_HOME are as below:

First approach: Refresh the dbTier environment.

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Click Home> Infrastructure Connection.

  3. Select the target dbTier environment and click Refresh in the top right-hand corner.

  4. Refreshing the environment will discover an EBS database listener and ensure it is available for selection when provisioning the EBS database.

  5. If the DBTechstack is not discovered by the first approach, follow the second approach to discover it manually.

Second approach: Discover the environment manually

  1. Log in to DCT.

  2. Click Home> Infrastructure Connection.

  3. Select the target dbTier environment and click View.

  4. Select the Data tab.

  5. Click + Add Installation to enter Oracle Home path.

  6. On the Add Installation window, select Oracle as your Database Type.

  7. Enter an Installation Path.

    This path should be the value of $ORACLE_HOME on your target dbTier; this path will live under the Delphix mount path specified when you provisioned the virtual DBTechstack.

    Commonly, this path looks like /u01/oracle/VIS/11.2.0.

  8. Enter the Version of your Oracle installation.

  9. Enter the Oracle Base directory path.

  10. Select the Bits encryption. For example, select 64 or 32 bits.

  11. Click Save to add your database installation home.
