Use the SAP ASE connector with the Delphix Data Engine in DCT to configure source, staging, and target hosts. Each SAP ASE host must have an operating system user configured according to Delphix requirements.

To add SAP ASE environments:

  1. Log in to the DCT instance.

  2. On the Home page, click + Infrastructure Connections.

  3. Select the Continuous Data Engine added previously.

  4. Enter a name for the SAP ASE environment connection and click Next.

  5. Click Next and select the following:

    • Host OS: Select Unix or Windows. For SAP ASE connector, only Unix is supported.

    • Server Type: Select Standalone for a single-instance environment, or Cluster for a cluster environment. Select Standalone and click Next.

  6. On the Settings page, enter the Host OS IP address and configure the following details:

    • SSH Port: Enter the SSH port. The default value is 22.

    • Login Settings: Select the Username and Password to enter the OS Username and OS Password values.

    • Toolkit Path: Enter a Toolkit path. The toolkit directory stores scripts used for Delphix Engine operations, and should have a persistent working directory rather than a temporary one. The toolkit directory will have a separate subdirectory for each database instance. The toolkit path must have 0770 permissions and at least 345MB of free space.

    • Java Development Kit: Delphix installs its own JDK in the environment when the environment is added to the Engine. If you want to use your own JDK in the environment (this is not common), select the Provide my own JDK option to enter the absolute JDK path of the host.

  7. (Optional) Configure the following Advanced Options:

    • Discover SAP ASE: Enter the Login Settings for the SAP ASE database. Choose either Username and Password or Password Vault option to login settings.

If the Username and Password option is selected, enter the Database User login credentials for authentication.
    • Set Network File System Addresses (NFS): Enter the add additional host addresses if host has multiple IP addresses.

    • Set Delphix Session Protocol Options (DSP): Configure Server/Client authentication for Delphix Session Protocol communication (if needed).

    • Click Next.

  8. Click Validate to confirm the connection, then click Next.

  9. Once the connection is validated, click Next to enter the absolute JDK path which installed on the environment.

  10. Review the environment details and click Submit.

DCT can discover and communicate with SAP ASE source and target environments.
