Linking creates a dSource and sets up ingestion to capture Couchbase data. Couchbase supports two ingestion methods; choose based on your infrastructure and requirements.

XDCR ingestion

  • Uses Couchbase-native replication (Cross Datacenter Replication)

  • Requires source cluster → staging cluster network connectivity (port 11210)

  • Provides continuous data synchronization

  • Best for: Real-time data ingestion and frequent snapshots

Backup Manager ingestion

  • Uses cbbackupmgr backup archives

  • Staging restores data from existing backups

  • Provides snapshot-based ingestion (data captured at backup time)

  • Best for: Point-in-time recovery and backup-based workflows
