Provision an Oracle vPDB from a vPDB snapshot in DCT

Delphix supports provisioning a virtual pluggable database (vPDB) from a vPDB snapshot in to linked container database (CDB).

Provision an Oracle vPDB from a vPDB snapshot into a linked CDB or existing vCDB

To provision vPDB from an Oracle vPDB snapshot into a linked CDB in DCT, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the DCT instance.

2. Navigate to Data > VDB, and click a vPDB dSource and select the Timeline tab.

3. Choose a snapshot and click Actions > Provision VDB. For more information, read the Provisioning a VDB page.

   

4. On the Provision VDB page, select the existing vPDB and click Next.

5. To provision a vPDB from vPDB, select the target environment and click Next.

6. Enter the Target Configuration details and click Next.

7. Accept the default Policies options and click Next.

8. Accept the default Masking options and click Next.

9. Accept the default Hook operations and click Next.

10. Review the summary and click Submit.

 

Provision a vPDB from a vPDB into a new CDB

To provision a vPDB from an Oracle vPDB to a new CDB in DCT, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the DCT instance.

2. Navigate to Data > dSources, and click a Staging Push dSource and select the Timeline tab.

3. Choose a snapshot and click Actions > Provision VDB.

4. On the Target Environment page, select the Create a new container database check box and click Next.

   

5. Follow the instructions from step # 5 to 9 in the previous section to complete the provisioning of a new CDB.
