Release 2026.0.0.5 (Preview)
This release contains the following new feature(s):
The YugabyteDB connector v2026.0.0.5 Preview release introduces a revamped backup and restore workflow and a simplified target-side VDB architecture. This preview supports incremental backup chain ingestion, direct-binary VDB operations, S3 IAM instance-profile authentication, and optional node-to-node TLS for VDB clusters.
-
Incremental backup chain ingestion
This feature ingests the most recent completed full backup and the incremental backups in its backup chain. Yugabyte Anywhere resolves the full and incremental backup chain.
-
Direct-binary VDB lifecycle
The Yugabyte connector provisions and manages VDBs directly with YugabyteDB binaries on target hosts. Yugabyte Anywhere is needed on the dSource/staging workflow. The connector automatically discovers the databases present in the selected dSource snapshot.
-
S3 IAM instance-profile authentication
For S3-backed dSource ingestion, use EC2 instance profiles instead of storing long-lived AWS access keys. The staging host and the YBA/DB-node environment must have roles that can access the configured backup location.
-
VDB node-to-node TLS
This feature encrypts
master-to-master,master-to-tserver, andtserver-to-tservertraffic in plugin-managed VDB clusters. You supply and maintain the required certificates on every VDB node.
