Linking a dSource ingests SAP HANA data into Delphix-managed storage. Perform this task when preparing data for snapshotting and virtualization.

Prerequisites

  • If the source database uses LSS with encryption, place the root key backup file (.rkb) on the staging host and note the file path.

High-level steps

  1. Navigate to Data > Data Management > dSources.
  2. Select + dSource in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Source-based dSource.
  4. Choose a source configuration.
  5. Provide staging and database parameters.
  6. Example of the SAP HANA dSource configuration flow:

Add dSource wizard showing SAP HANA source configuration with Encryption Parameters section

  7. For External Backup (Staging Pull) with LSS-based databases with encryption off, enter the LSS Root Key Backup Password value. For External Backup (Staging Pull) with LSS-based databases with encryption on, enter all the values in Encryption Parameters.
  8. Example of backup and encryption parameter fields in the dSource wizard:

Add dSource wizard showing backup paths and the LSS Root Key Backup Password field in Encryption Parameters

  9. Define dSource metadata.
  10. Configure data management and policies.
  11. (Optional) Add hooks.
  12. Review the summary and submit.

Result

The dSource appears as Inactive during linking and transitions to Active after completion.
