To register a Continuous Data Engine in DCT:

  1. Navigate to the DCT login page and enter the API Key provided by Delphix.

  2. Click Authorize to open the DCT Infrastructure Connections Wizard.

  3. Select the Data tab and expand Data Infrastructure.

  4. Click Data Engines, then click Connect Engine.

  5. On the Engine Details page, enter the following Continuous Data Engine details:

    • Name: Enter the name of the Continuous Data Engine

    • Hostname: Enter the Continuous Data Engine hostname or IP address

    • Choose Engine Type – Select the Continuous Data option.

    • Click Next.

  6. On the Authentication page, provide the log in details:

    • Enter the Username and Password.

    • Select the Vault option to enter the following HashiCorp Vault credentials:

      • HashiCorp Vault Username Command Arguments

      • HashiCorp Vault Password Command Arguments

      • HashiCorp Vault ID

    • Click Next.

  7. On the Security page, configure the following security options:

    • Insecure SSL: if checked, allows connections to the engine over HTTPS without validating the TLS certificate. Even though the connection may be performed over HTTPS, enabling this eliminates protection against man-in-the-middle attacks. Prefer configuring DCT with proper Certificate Authority certificates instead.

    • Unsafe hostname check: If checked, ignores validation of the hostname associated with the TLS certificate when connecting over HTTPS. Only enable this when the TLS certificate of the engine does not match the hostname and the engine's TLS configuration cannot be corrected. Ignored if Insecure SSL is set.

    • Click Next.

  8. (Optional) Configure Tags. DCT automatically creates predefined tags on objects discovered through the Delphix Data Engine.

  9. Review the engine details and click Submit.

  10. Once the engine is connected, it appears in the Data Engines list with an Online status.

  11. Click View next to the engine to open its detail page. From the detail page, click the Actions option at the top right to perform any of the following:

    1. Rename: Change the display name of the engine.

    2. Auto-tagging configuration: Modify object access. Review permissions carefully after auto-tagging; all existing and new objects from that point will automatically receive the configured tags, which behave like any other tags added to objects.

    3. Network Performance Test: Run the network performance test for latency, throughput, and DSP. For details, see the Test with Network Performance Tool page.
