Perform V2P on an SAP ASE dSource or VDB in DCT

This topic describes the procedure to perform virtual to physical (V2P) operation on a virtual database (VDB) to a physical one. Before performing the V2P operation, you must have created a database on the target instance into which you will load the exported data. It must be sufficiently large, and it must have been created with the for-load SAP ASE option.

To perform V2P operation on SAP ASE dSource in DCT:

1. Log in to the DCT instance.

2. Navigate to Data>dSources and select any SAP ASE dSource and click View.

3. Click the Actions menu and select the Virtual to Physical option.

4. On the Data State Selection page, select a Provision Point option and click Next.

5. On the Target Configuration page, enter the following configuration details:

   • Environment: Name of the environment.

   • Instance: Select the instance from the drop-down list.

   • Database Name: Select the database name from drop-down list.

   • Select the Run Recovery After V2P check box to run recovery job.

   • Click Next.

6. Review the V2P operation summary details and click Submit.
