Use the Oracle connector with the Delphix Data Engine in DCT to configure the source and target hosts.

Each Oracle host must have an operating system user configured according to Delphix requirements. This user (i.e. delphix_os) can easily be created by using the createDelphixOSUser.sh script.

To add an Oracle environment in the DCT, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the DCT instance.

  2. On the Home page, click +Infrastructure Connections to add a source and target Oracle environment.

  3. On the Create Infrastructure Connection page, select the Continuous Data Engine that was added before.

  4. Enter the name for an Oracle standalone connection.

  5. Click Next to select Host OS and Server Type:

    • Host OS: Select the Unix or Windows operating system.

For Oracle data sources, only the UNIX operating system is supported
    • Unix: Select the Unix option and enter the following details:

    • Server Type

      • Standalone: the environment is a single instance environment.

      • Cluster: the environment is an Oracle cluster environment.

    • Select Standalone and click Next.

  6. In the Settings page, enter following details:

    • Host/IP Address: the host name or IP address of the environment host.
    • SSH Port: Enter the SSH port. The default value is 22.

    • Login Settings: Select the Username and Password to enter the OS Username and OS Password values.

    • Toolkit Path: Enter a Toolkit path. The toolkit directory stores scripts used for Delphix Engine operations, and should have a persistent working directory rather than a temporary one. The toolkit directory will have a separate subdirectory for each database instance. The toolkit path must have 0770 permissions and at least 345MB of free space.

    • Java Development Kit:Delphix installs its own JDK in the environment when the environment is added to the Engine. If you want to use your own JDK in the environment (this is not common), select the Provide my own JDK option to enter the absolute JDK path of the host.

    • Advanced Options: Select this option to choose the Discover the SAP ASE, Set Network File System (NFS) Address, or Set Delphix Session Protocol (DSP) option. For more information, read the Infrastructure Connection Wizard page.

    • Once the connection is validated, click Next to enter the absolute JDK path which installed on the environment.

  7. Review the Oracle environment details and click Submit.
