When a discovery job managed by DCT is executed, the job is deployed to a compliance node associated with the Job Orchestrator.

After the execution completes, DCT retrieves the discovery results from the compliance node and updates the associated Rule Set with the detected sensitive data classifications.

Use this task to view the discovery results generated during a discovery job execution.

Steps

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Compliance Jobs.

  2. Click View next to the discovery job to open the job details page.

  3. Click View Job Execution Details to view the execution details of a compliance job.

The Job Execution Details page opens. This page contains the following tabs:

    1. Overview

    2. Discovery Results

    3. Execution Components

    4. Execution Logs

For more information about Overview, Execution Components, and Execution Logs tabs, see View job execution details.

Discovery Results

This view lists the tables and columns analyzed during the discovery job.

If sensitive data is detected in a column, the system assigns:

  • A Data Class

  • The default masking algorithm associated with that data class.

View updated Rule Set

Discovery results may update the Rule Set associated with the job.

T view the updated masking assignments, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Compliance > Rule Sets associated with the discovery job.

  2. Open the Masking Rules tab.

If a column has Enable Automatic Updates enabled and sensitive data is detected, the system automatically assigns the detected Data Class and its default masking algorithm.
