Use this topic to understand the actions available for managing an application in Synthetic Data.
You can manage an application from the application details page, where you can review application status and configuration, inspect connector mappings, and perform application-level actions related to connector discovery and management.
Use the following topics to manage an application:
-
Edit an application - Update application metadata such as the description and tags.
-
Rename an application - Change the application name to help identify it across Synthetic Data workflows.
-
Discover an application - Trigger discovery on the application’s reference connectors to refresh schema metadata (tables, columns, and relationships) and detect schema changes.
-
Manage application connectors - Add, edit, or remove reference and target connectors and update mappings between reference connectors and their target destinations.
-
Delete an application - Permanently remove the application and associated Synthetic Data configuration objects.
When to run discovery
Run Discover after adding new connectors to an application so that Synthetic Data can retrieve metadata from the associated reference environments. Discovery is currently a one-time action for each connector and does not detect subsequent schema changes in the source database.
Next Steps
-
If you have not created an application yet, see Add an application.
-
After connectors are configured and discovery is complete, you can create datasets from the application. See Create a dataset.
