Hook operation templates store commonly used scripts for reuse across multiple dSources and VDBs. Templates can be created directly in DCT, imported automatically from connected CD engines, or exported from existing hook configurations.

Managing templates in DCT

Hook Templates are managed in DCT under Data > Data Management > Hook Templates. From this page you can:

  • View all templates, including those imported from connected engines.

  • Create new templates with the + Hook Template button.

  • Edit or delete existing templates.

For detailed instructions on creating and managing Hook Templates, read Hook templates.

Applying templates during provisioning

Templates can be applied to hook points during VDB provisioning or dSource linking. In the Hooks step of either wizard, use the import option to select an existing template. For details on the provisioning wizards, see:

  • VDB provisioning wizard

  • dSource creation wizard

Applying templates to existing datasets

To apply a template to an existing dSource or VDB, navigate to the dataset's details page and select the Hooks tab. From there, add a new hook and import from an existing template.
