Editing a job allows you to update its name, description, tags, dataset, connector mappings, and data volume settings. The Edit Job wizard follows the same steps as creating a job, with existing values pre-populated in each field.

Use this task to modify an existing job in Synthetic Data.

Steps

  1. From the top navigation bar, click Synthetic, then click Jobs in the left navigation pane.

  2. Locate the job you want to edit, then click View in the Actions column to open the job details page.

  3. Click Edit in the upper-right corner. The Edit Job wizard opens with the existing job configuration pre-populated.

  4. On the Job Info page, update any of the following details as needed:

    1. Job Name: Modify the name of the job.

    2. Description (optional): Update or add a free-text description.

    3. Tags (optional): Add new key-value tags to the job.

    4. Enter a value in the Enter Tag Key field.

    5. Enter the corresponding value in the Enter Tag Value field.

    6. Click + Tag to add the tag.

Repeat these steps to add additional tags.

    7. Under Generation Options, update the following as needed:

      1. Replace Existing Data: When selected, existing data in the target connectors is deleted before the job writes its synthetic data. By default, new data is appended to what's already there.

      2. Job Specific Generation Seed: When selected, generates different synthetic value results based on a non-default seed that was created for the job.

  5. On the Select Dataset page, change the dataset associated with the job if needed.

  6. On the Connector Mapping page, update the target connector mappings as needed.

  7. On the Data Volume page, adjust the record counts for any tables as needed.

  8. On the Review & Create page, review the updated job configuration.

    1. To make further changes, click Back.

    2. To save the changes, click Submit.

The job configuration is updated and saved. The next time the job runs, it uses the updated settings.
