Applications are the top-level organizational unit in Synthetic Data. An application represents a real-world system (for example, a CRM or billing application) and acts as the container for the connectors and discovery results needed to generate synthetic data.
Before you can create datasets or run jobs, you set up an application by configuring connectors:
-
Reference connectors are used to connect to a source database and discover schema metadata (tables, columns, constraints, and relationships).
-
Target connectors identify destination databases where generated synthetic data is written.
Applications also support tagging, consistent with DCT’s tagging model, to help organise and manage access to synthetic resources.
