A connector defines the connection details required for DCT to access a database, file system, or other supported data source. Connectors store the information required to establish the connection, such as the host, port, credentials, and database or file location.

When a connector is created, it is associated with a Job Orchestrator. The orchestrator uses its registered compliance nodes to access the data source and perform operations such as metadata discovery, rule set refresh, and masking job execution.

Because DCT does not directly access data sources, compliance nodes act as execution proxies. When an operation requires access to a connector, the orchestrator selects an available node and executes the operation on that node.

You can perform the following operations:

Create a Connector

Create a file connector

Register an SSH key

Masking connectors (read-only)

Mainframe connectors

Cloud file connectors

Edit a connector

Test a Connector

Rename a Connector

Delete a Connector

Manage extended connectors
