Selective Data Distribution (SDD) is managed through the same replication policy interface as standard replication in DCT. Navigate to Data > Policies > Replication to create and manage SDD policies.
Creating an SDD policy
SDD policies are created using the same replication policy wizard, with the Selective Data Distribution mode selected. See Replication interface for the full policy creation workflow.
Key differences for SDD policies:
-
Mode: Select Selective Data Distribution in the mode selection step.
-
Replication Objects: Only masked VDBs can be selected. You cannot select dSources, groups, or the entire domain. Only one masked VDB per parent dSource can be selected.
-
Profile Type: The policy is identified as an SDD policy in the policy list and detail page.
SDD policy detail page
The SDD policy detail page follows the same three-section layout as standard replication policies:
-
Overview: Summarizes the SDD policy configuration, including target engine, schedule, and traffic options.
-
Source Objects: Lists the masked VDBs selected for distribution.
-
Execution History: Shows previous distribution runs with status, timing, and data transfer statistics.
Viewing SDD replicas
SDD replicas appear alongside standard replication replicas in DCT. Navigate to Data > Policies > Replication and select the SDD policy to view its source objects and execution history. SDD replicas are read-only and cannot be failed over.
For more information on SDD replicas and failover behavior, see SDD and failover.
Configuration options
SDD policies support the same traffic and scheduling options as standard replication policies:
-
Automated Replication: Schedule distribution at specified intervals.
-
Traffic Options: Enable encryption or limit bandwidth during distribution.
-
Replica Tags: Apply tags to replicas created by the SDD policy.
For detailed configuration guidance, see SDD configuration.
