Generate a Data Control Tower (DCT) support bundle or support logs when Delphix Support requests diagnostic information to investigate a product issue. The bundle collects logs, configuration information, diagnostics, and related metadata for analysis.
Before you begin
- Confirm that Delphix Support requested a support bundle and have the support case number available.
- For a Kubernetes deployment, install Bash and confirm that you can run
kubectlcommands against the DCT pods. - For a Docker deployment, confirm that you have permission to run
dockercommands. - If Delphix Support requests analytics or performance diagnostics, plan to include analytics data.
Generate a support bundle from a Kubernetes or Docker deployment
- Download the support bundle that contains the support-tools tar file from the DCT downloads site.
- Extract the downloaded tar file and locate
support-bundle/collect_bundle.sh. - Transfer
collect_bundle.shto a machine that can run the required commands against the DCT deployment. - Run the script. The script assumes a Kubernetes deployment and uses the
dct-servicesnamespace by default. If the deployment uses a different namespace, pass it with the-noption. For example:./collect_bundle.sh -n <custom_namespace>. - Find the generated
dct-support-<timestamp>.tar.gzfile in the current directory.
Generate support logs from a DCT Appliance (OVA) deployment
Generate support logs from the System Setup UI by following the steps in Creating support logs. Enter the support case number when the workflow requests it.
Result
The deployment creates a support bundle named dct-support-<timestamp>.tar.gz for Kubernetes or Docker deployments, or support logs for a DCT Appliance (OVA) deployment.
Next steps
- To upload a downloaded bundle, upload the support bundle manually.
- To transfer a bundle directly from a supported workflow, transfer the support bundle directly to Delphix Support.
- If Delphix Support requested analytics data, include analytics data in the support bundle.
