DCT Compliance includes built-in discovery policies that contain predefined classifier logic for detecting sensitive data.

These policies allow organizations to quickly begin discovering sensitive information without creating custom detection rules. Each discovery policy contains a set of classifiers that evaluate database metadata and data values to determine whether a column contains sensitive data.

Built-in classifiers are designed to detect a wide range of commonly regulated data types, including:

  • personal identity information

  • financial identifiers

  • contact information

  • healthcare data

  • authentication credentials

Organizations can use the provided discovery policies as-is or create custom policies to tailor detection logic to their specific data sets.
