September 2026
Continuous Data 2026.5.0.0 continues the transition to Data Control Tower and expands Oracle, SQL Server, and Virtualization SDK plugin workflows. Highlights include Lightweight Discovery for Oracle environments, Data Control Tower support for provisioning and managing SQL Server Availability Group VDBs, a pre-copy validation hook for vSDK Virtual-to-Physical workflows, and engine-wide SSH access control for security and compliance. This release also certifies ESXi 9.1 for VMware deployments and the PostgreSQL connector for PostgreSQL databases hosted on Debian 12 and Debian 13. Starting with this release, new engine installations no longer include the Management UI and display the Continuous Data interface end-of-life notice; upgraded engines are unaffected. Connectors that run on Python 2.7 or Python 3.8 no longer work with Continuous Data 2026.5, so affected connectors must be upgraded.
New features
Continuous Data user interfaces end of life notice
As the product experience transitions to Data Control Tower, Continuous Data management and setup interfaces are being sunset over the next three years.
For more information, read Continuous Data User Interfaces end of life on this page.
Lightweight Discovery for Oracle environments
This release introduces Lightweight Discovery, an on-demand operation that discovers new, changed, or upgraded Oracle homes and new databases (CDBs, PDBs, and single-instance/RAC source configurations) on an already-configured Oracle environment without running a full environment refresh.
Unlike a full environment refresh, which re-pushes the toolkit, rediscovers the entire environment, and temporarily disables all enabled dSources while it runs, Lightweight Discovery only reconciles Oracle installations and source configurations against what is currently on the host and leaves running dSources and VDBs untouched. New objects are created, changed or upgraded objects are updated, and stale objects with no attached sources are deleted.
Lightweight Discovery is supported for Oracle data sources in Unix/Linux standalone hosts and Oracle RAC clusters. On the Continuous Data engine, it is available through the CLI (environment > lightweightDiscover); in Data Control Tower, it is available from the Refresh Environment dialog and through the REST API. Any user with the ENVIRONMENT_REFRESH permission on the target environment can run it; no new permission is required.
For more information, see Lightweight Discovery for Oracle environments. For Data Control Tower details, see Refresh Environment / Lightweight Discovery in Environment operations.
ESXi 9.1 certification
Continuous Data Engine 2026.4.0.0 and later support ESXi 9.1 for VMware deployments.
For more information, read Deployment for VMware.
PostgreSQL connector certification for Debian 12 and Debian 13
The PostgreSQL connector is now certified for PostgreSQL 15, 16, and 17 databases hosted on Debian 12 (bookworm) and Debian 13 (trixie). You can use the existing dSource linking and synchronization, and VDB provisioning, enable, refresh, and rewind workflows on these platforms with Continuous Data Engine 2026.5.0.0 or later and PostgreSQL connector 2026.2.0.
For more information, see PostgreSQL connector certifications.
SQL Server Availability Group VDB management in Data Control Tower
Data Control Tower now supports provisioning and managing SQL Server Availability Group (AG) VDBs. You can provision AG VDBs through the guided workflow, view AG configuration and replica synchronization state on the VDB details page, and view AG topology from the infrastructure details page.
AG VDB operations have platform-specific limits. Create Bookmark and Create Snapshot are not available for AG VDBs.
For more information, see Managing VDBs in Data Control Tower.
Pre-copy validation hook for vSDK Virtual-to-Physical workflows
Virtualization SDK plugin developers can now implement the pre_source_to_physical() hook to validate the destination before a Virtual-to-Physical (V2P) operation copies data. The hook is available for VDBs and direct and staged dSources.
For more information, read the Delphix Developer documentation.
Engine-wide SSH access control
As a system administrator with SYSTEM privileges, you can now fully disable SSH access engine-wide and re-enable it when needed to reduce the engine's attack surface and meet security compliance policies. The disabled state persists across engine reboots and software upgrades.
You can manage the SSH state using the sysadmin CLI or the REST API over HTTPS (/resources/json/delphix/service/ssh), and re-enable access over HTTPS or from the serial console. SSH remains enabled by default.
For more information, see Disable or enable SSH engine access in Configure network security settings.

| Issue number | Description |
|---|---|
| DLPX-99341 | Hotfix metadata file modified to prevent hotfix image verification from failing. |
| DLPX-99343 | Prevents storage service restart loop after upgrade on Elastic Data engines. |
| DLPX-99374 | Continuous Data management service unexpectedly restarts during active replication or SnapSync operations. |
Release 2026.5.0.0 (September 2026)
| Issue number | Description |
|---|---|
| DLPX-95672 | New AWS Delphix Engine deployments could occasionally be missing the RSA SSH host key. |
| DLPX-96533 | Duplicate SAP ASE backup server entries could appear after failover of a replicated dataset, causing subsequent dSource link and sync operations to fail. |
| DLPX-96803 | Realtime CPU and network data could be missing from the Performance Analytics screen. |
| DLPX-97092 | Refreshing an Oracle virtual PDB could fail with ORA-01157 and ORA-01110 in ASM environments when the source Data Guard primary PDB contains offline datafiles that have not been offline-dropped on the standby. |
| DLPX-97114 | Oracle archive logs required for LogSync could be incorrectly deleted during a source disable and re-enable cycle or environment refresh, potentially preventing VDB provisioning or refresh to certain points in time. |
| DLPX-97189 | Repeated timeouts while transferring Oracle archive or redo logs could cause LogSync to stop clearing completed timeout entries, resulting in delayed log processing and repeated error messages in the engine logs for the affected dSource. |
| DLPX-97501 | The engine could crash with a kernel panic when a storage agent restart caused a duplicate I/O completion to be processed for the same request. |
| DLPX-97507 | Oracle VDB provisioning, refresh, and rollback operations could fail with ORA-01031 on databases with Oracle Database Vault enabled when the security policy prohibits granting elevated database privileges to the Delphix user. |
| DLPX-97555 | Updated Spring Web as part of routine dependency maintenance, which includes a fix for CVE-2026-41854. |
| DLPX-97680 | Corrected dSource sizing in capacity reporting and phone-home data to reflect only the current timeflow. Previously, dSources with many timeflows could report significantly inflated unvirtualized space, affecting license and sizing calculations. |
| DLPX-97697 | Updated Jackson Databind as part of routine dependency maintenance, which includes fixes for CVE-2026-54512, CVE-2026-54513, CVE-2026-54514, CVE-2026-54515, CVE-2026-54516, CVE-2026-54517, CVE-2026-54518, CVE-2026-59888, CVE-2026-59889, and CVE-2026-68497. |
| DLPX-97708 | The system storage capacity fault now states that the OS filesystem cannot be expanded to resolve the condition, and the debug log records which dataset triggered it. |
| DLPX-97725 | Oracle VDB SnapSync and replication receive operations could intermittently fail with an internal error under high-concurrency conditions. |
| DLPX-97802 | Addressed missing data when collecting NFS performance analytics in support bundles. |
| DLPX-97821 | NVMe drives on VMware could be misidentified as available when already in use by a storage pool. Device tracking now recognizes NVMe device aliases and avoids top-level device names that can change across reboots. |
| DLPX-97992 | Updated Log4j as part of routine dependency maintenance, which includes fixes for CVE-2026-34477, CVE-2026-49844, and CVE-2025-68161. |
| DLPX-98021 | Pool devices could intermittently appear as unconfigured after device rediscovery. Rediscovery now waits for device enumeration to complete before evaluating pool membership. |
| DLPX-98153 | An Oracle virtual PDB could fail to restart after an environment refresh or fail to provision if its container database keystore had been migrated from an external keystore to a software wallet. |
| DLPX-98328 | Improved Zettacache read latency during periodic internal cache maintenance. |
| DLPX-98538 | Updated 7z to version 26.02 to address CVE-2026-14266. |

Deprecated and EOL features
Continuous Data user interfaces end of life
As we transition to the Data Control Tower platform experience, we are sunsetting all Continuous Data management and setup interfaces. The transition happens in stages:
-
September 2026: Starting with 2026.5, new engine installations will no longer include the Management UI, while upgraded engines are unaffected.
-
July 2027: With 2027.4, all UI, CLI, and API interfaces are removed from new installs and upgrades, marking End of Maintenance; support will continue to triage issues and offer reasonable workarounds, with equivalent fixes delivered through Data Control Tower or interface-free engine upgrades.
-
January 2029: End of Maintenance and Support concludes.
As you migrate, your data, dSources, virtual databases, and configurations remain fully intact; only the interfaces change. All Delphix customers are entitled to Data Control Tower, and we recommend installing it and connecting your engines now to begin the transition.
