Continuous Data 2026.3.0.0 expands platform support and strengthens SQL Server workflows. This release adds Azure Compute Gallery support for newer VM families, enhances SQL Server availability group and VDB provisioning capabilities, and delivers certifications, connector parity improvements, and targeted reliability fixes.

New features

SQL Server 2025 certification

Continuous Data is now certified for SQL Server 2025 across on all compatible Windows versions. Both Standalone and Cluster configuration are fully supported.

For more information, read SQL Server matrix on Ecosystem Hub.

Support for CDC and TDE in SQL Server target Availability Groups (AG)

Delphix now supports Change Data Capture (CDC) for SQL Server AG VDBs. CDC is configured at provisioning and cannot be changed later. Users must manually create CDC jobs on the primary replica. Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) is fully supported without additional configuration.

For more information, read CDC support in SQL Server on Ecosystem Hub.

READ_ONLY source support for SQL Server VDB provisioning

Delphix now supports provisioning Virtual Databases (VDBs) from SQL Server dSources where the source database was in READ-ONLY mode at the time the backup and snapshot were taken. The Delphix Engine automatically transitions the provisioned VDB to READ-WRITE mode during the recovery process, regardless of the source database's mode at snapshot time.

This applies to all supported SQL Server VDB topologies:

  • Standalone VDBs

  • VDBs on Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)

  • VDBs on Always On Availability Groups (AG)

No user action or configuration change is required to take advantage of this behavior. For more information, read SQL Server Operations on Ecosystem Hub.

View SQL Server backup set metadata for snapshots

Delphix Continuous Data Engines now provide an option to view the SQL Server backup set metadata as part of the snapshot runtime. Users can view detailed information about the SQL Server backup that was used to create a given snapshot, including backup type, Log Sequence Number (LSN) range, timestamps, recovery model, and copy-only status.

This feature provides better traceability when working with snapshots and helps users make informed decisions when selecting a snapshot for provisioning or point-in-time recovery. For more information, read View SQL Server backup set metadata for snapshots page.

Certify SAP ASE 16.1 on RHEL 9

Continuous Data is now certified for SAP ASE 16.1 running on RHEL 9.4 and RHEL 9.5, including Kerberos-enabled deployments. All existing ASE workflows - dSource sync (Backuplog and Dump History), encrypted database sync, and VDB provision, enable, refresh, and rewind are supported on this platform.

For more information, read SAP ASE matrix on Ecosystem Hub.

Azure V6 series for Delphix Engine through Azure Compute Gallery

Continuous Data now supports Microsoft Azure V6 series virtual machines, enabling you to take advantage of newer, higher-performance instance types. Support is delivered through Azure Compute Gallery, which provides centralized image management with versioning and the configuration required by V6 families (such as Hyper-V Generation V2 and NVMe disk controllers) making it easier to deploy engines consistently across regions and at scale.

For more information, read Create an engine on Azure with ACG for V6 instance families.

Limited Solaris support re-introduced

We are reintroducing limited Solaris support to Continuous Data following its removal in 2026.2. This is a narrow re-introduction intended to provide a supported path forward for the small number of customers who were unable to migrate off Solaris within the original deprecation window outlined in TB133. It is not a full restoration of the prior Solaris support matrix.

For more information, read Solaris support update on Ecosystem Hub.

Fixed issues

Release 2026.3.0.0 (May 2026)

Issue number Description
DLPX-77249 Enhanced the validation logic to fail fast when an invalid FQDN is found during discovery of SQL Server environments. Also enhanced the error message to highlight the suggested actions.
DLPX-85253 Added a configurable timeout to address an issue where the SQL Server Validated Sync worker could stop after a fault and not resume, causing snapshots to fall behind without user-visible errors.
DLPX-87118 Disabled a superfluous job that could cause Masking Admin account to become locked.
DLPX-94854 Backup server errorlog entries for ASE16.1 SP00 PL01 are now supported.
DLPX-94871 Added the ability to specify object_delete_batch_size via the sysadmin CLI.
DLPX-95036 Added an automated alert in the system when the engine root disk space usage reaches 95% capacity.
DLPX-95408 Fixed an issue where changing the toolkit directory did not clean up the old toolkit folder.
DLPX-95409 Fixed an issue where changing the toolkit directory could cause VDB operations to fail.
DLPX-95560 Added a warning fault when a vPDB is the only PDB in a vCDB and the vCDB is not refreshed during vPDB refresh/rewind.
DLPX-96013 Added support for Azure V6 instances types.
DLPX-96034 Improved disk usage diagnostic reporting in support bundles.
DLPX-96227 Fixed an issue where Stop hooks were not executed before unmounting during ASE operations. Stop hooks now run as expected during stop-related workflows.
DLPX-96293 Fixed an issue in collecting ZFS intent log data in customer support bundles.
DLPX-96536 Introduced a safeguard that prevents applying a new custom policy while an existing custom policy is still executing. This ensures consistent policy behavior and avoids errors during runtime.

DLPX-96567

Removed timeouts for all Oracle virtual source operations and handled graceful termination of all child processes on cancel.
DLPX-96595 Improved the error message when a datafile drops at the beginning of SnapSync and recreates before the datafile is backed up by RMAN.
DLPX-96666 Fixed crashes (NullPointerException and ClassCastException) that occurred when provisioning a SQL Server AG VDB with a mismatched repository type.
DLPX-96758 Added space check for offline replication cache and NFS transfers.
DLPX-96759 Resolved an issue where canceling an offline replication job did not immediately stop data transfer, which could result in unexpected storage consumption.
DLPX-96766 Resolved an issue where jobs enabling High cache priority on multiple VDBs in rapid succession would report success even if some VDBs were reverted to Normal priority due to insufficient cache reservation space.
DLPX-96796 Fixed an issue where temporary cloud storage network delays could cause the replication agent to become unresponsive, requiring an engine reboot to recover.
DLPX-96805 Fixed an issue allowing replication receive jobs only to restart if they are offline receive jobs.
DLPX-96820 Fixed an issue where internal consistency checks could incorrectly report errors related to the support bundle filesystem, potentially causing support bundle verification failures.
DLPX-96962 Fixed an issue where upgrade image upload could fail with a generic internal error if the core dump analysis script failed due to a missing system utility. The core cleanup during upload now handles analysis failures gracefully so uploads are not blocked.
DLPX-96982 Fixed an issue that prevented successful engine upgrades on environments where Oracle source hosts were configured with abbreviated or legacy timezone identifiers.
DLPX-97057 Fixed an issue in Selective Data Distribution that could cause data inconsistencies.

Known issues

Issue number Summary Workaround
DLPX-96762 If a VDB's cache priority is set to High after upgrading to 2026.2.0.0 without a reboot, this feature will not be enabled. An error is given but the VDB's cache priority is not reset to Normal. Once the engine has been rebooted, the VDB cache priority should be manually reset to Normal. The priority can now be set to High to enable the feature.
DLPX-97032 When provisioning or refreshing an Oracle VDB with the "Generate new DBID" option enabled, the redo log file size may be incorrectly set to 4MB regardless of the configured redo log size. After provisioning or refreshing an Oracle VDB with "Generate new DBID" enabled, manually resize the redo log files to the desired size using Oracle's log file management commands. This involves adding new log groups at the correct size, performing log switches until the original 4MB groups become inactive, and then dropping the original groups.
DLPX-97044 Oracle archive logs required for VDB recovery may be incorrectly deleted by log retention policies under heavy load, potentially leaving certain VDB snapshots unrecoverable. None
DLPX-97092 Refreshing an Oracle virtual PDB may fail with ORA-01157 and ORA-01110 in ASM environments when the source Data Guard primary PDB contains offline datafiles that have not been offline-dropped on the standby. No workaround is available. Contact Delphix Support for a hotfix or wait for the product fix planned for the 2026.4.0.0 engine release.
DLPX-97171 Provisioning or refreshing an Oracle VDB may fail with ORA-00308 when the source VDB uses the default log_archive_format and the target VDB is configured with a non-default value.

Do not configure a custom log_archive_format on the target (second-generation) VDB.

Alternatively, set the source VDB log_archive_format to the default value (OS- and Oracle version-dependent), take a new snapshot, and provision from that snapshot.
