Use this procedure if you currently run Hyperscale Compliance on Docker Compose and want to deploy on Kubernetes. It covers data migration, configuring property migration, and, if applicable, certificate migration.

Prerequisites

  • A running Kubernetes cluster with access to create resources.

  • Network connectivity between source and destination.

  • Administrative access to both environments.

  1. Migrate data

To migrate data from source Hyperscale (Docker Compose) to destination Hyperscale (Kubernetes):

    1. Start destination Hyperscale by following the applicable instructions in Kubernetes

    2. Keep the source Hyperscale running (Docker Compose deployment) throughout the migration.

    3. Download the migration script from Delphix download.

    4. Follow the steps in the script’s README to migrate data from the source to the destination.

  1. SSL certificate migration (if applicable)

Perform this step only if your source Hyperscale (Docker Compose) deployment uses custom SSL certificates for the proxy.

    1. Create a local backup folder and copy the proxy SSL directory.

mkdir container_data
cd container_data/
mkdir proxy
#from container_data directory run following
docker cp <proxy-container-name>:/etc/config/nginx/ssl ./container_data/proxy
chmod 770 -R .

  1. Open the container_data/proxy/ssl folder and convert nginx.crt, nginx.key, and dhparam.pem files into Base64.

cat nginx.crt | base64 | awk '{print}' ORS='' | awk '{print}'

  1. Open values.yaml and replace the certificate, private key, and DH parameter fields with the Base64 string you generated for nginx.crt, nginx.key, and dhparam.pem.

  1. Configure property migration
Manually move any custom settings in docker-compose.yaml to values.yaml or values-<connectorType>.yaml. Refer to Modify existing configuration for any service if you do not find a property in values.yaml or values-<connectorType>.yaml but have custom values defined in docker-compose.
