The installation process for the Hyperscale Compliance appliance is similar to the standard engine installation for Continuous Data , Compliance engine and DCT deployments. The following sections describe the installation process for OVA, AWS, and KVM. KVM deployment is available only for the Oracle connector as an Early Access (EA) feature.

OVA

  1. Download the OVA file from the Delphix Download site. Navigate to Appliance > Hyperscale Compliance (not Delphix Engines).

  2. Deploy the OVA to your VMware ESX. Allocate resources according to the Technical requirements when deploying the OVA.

  3. Use the VM console and wait for both the Delphix Management Service and the Hyperscale Application Management Service to come online. This can take up to 5-10 minutes.

  4. Once the services are online and the VM is accessible via a web browser (port 80), proceed to Setup to configure the system.

AWS

  1. Navigate to the Appliance folder in the Hyperscale Compliance area (not in the Delphix Engines area) on the Delphix Downloads site.

  2. Click the AMI you would like to share with your AWS account and then accept the Delphix License agreement. Alternatively, follow a link given by your Delphix solutions architect.

  3. A form requesting details about your Amazon Web Services Account will be presented:

    1. Enter your AWS Account Identifier. If you want to use the GovCloud AWS Region, be sure to enter the ID for the AWS Account which has GovCloud enabled.

    2. Select which AWS Region you would like the AMI to be shared in. If you would like the AMI shared in a different region, contact your Delphix account representative to make the proper arrangements.

  4. Click Share. The Delphix Engine will appear in your list of AMIs in AWS momentarily.

  5. Allocate resources according to the Technical Requirements when deploying the AMI.

  6. Once you have launched your Hyperscale Compliance EC2 instance and it is accessible via a web browser (port 80), proceed to Setup to configure the system.

KVM

KVM deployment is available only for the Oracle connector as an Early Access (EA) feature.

  1. Download the KVM appliance image (.qcow2) from the Delphix Download site. Navigate to Delphix Product Releases > Hyperscale Compliance > <version> > Appliance > Appliance Images.

  2. Confirm that your KVM-based hypervisor is supported. See Supported platforms.

  3. Confirm that the host meets the Technical requirements, and reserve at least 8-10% of the host's CPU and memory for hypervisor overhead.

  4. Using a KVM management tool, such as virt-manager or virsh, create a new virtual machine:

    • Attach the downloaded .qcow2 image as the boot (system) disk.

    • Add a second virtual disk for the metadata volume, sized according to the Technical requirements (50 GB minimum).

    • Allocate vCPU, memory, and network resources according to the Technical requirements.

    • Connect the virtual machine to a virtual network that provides access to your management network.

  5. Start the virtual machine.

  6. Wait for both the Delphix Management Service and the Hyperscale Application Management Service to come online. Startup can take up to 10 minutes.

  7. After the services come online, verify that you can access the appliance through a web browser on port 80. Then proceed to Setup to configure the system.
